Vattanac Golf Resort celebrates dual World Golf Awards recognition for “Cambodia’s Best Golf Course” and the “World’s Best 9 Hole Golf Course”
Vattanac Golf Resort, managed by Troon, the leader in upscale club management, is celebrating after it was named the winner in two categories at the 2021 World Golf Awards. Vattanac Golf Resort’s West Course has been officially recognized as “Cambodia’s Best Golf Course”, and the unique 9 hole night course, The Dragon Turn, has been awarded the esteemed recognition as “The World’s Best 9 Hole Golf Course”. The World Golf Awards serves the purpose of recognizing, rewarding and celebrating golfing excellence, and is one of the most prestigious and respected bodies in this field.
The West Course is the second 18 hole championship course to be added to Vattanac Golf Resort. Designed by Sir Nick Faldo and opened in October 2020, it differs from the East Course (2020 winner of “Cambodia’s Best Golf Course”), in that it has narrower and more undulating fairways, a variety of unique water features and testing Paspalum greens. With a slightly more intimate feel compared to the imposing East course design, the West course has quickly become a favorite with valued guests.

Vattanac Golf Resort’s 9 hole floodlit course, is aptly named The Dragon Turn as it has four holes that are played around a Dragon shaped lake. Inspired by ownership’s vision to create a venue with unique and significant character, “The Dragon Turn” offers golfers a fresh and exciting approach to the game under the night sky. The recognition of the “Dragon Turn” as “The World’s Best 9 Hole Golf Course” is a success not just for Vattanac Golf Resort, but for Cambodia as a golfing destination.
